Felix Söhngen

B. Sc., Technical University of Munich, 2023
M. Sc., Technical University of Munich, 2025

Felix was born and raised in the beautiful Bavarian countryside between Chiemsee and the Austrian border. He moved to Munich for his Bachelor’s studies in Chemistry at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he completed his thesis in organic photochemistry in the group of Prof. Thorsten Bach. Felix continued at TUM for his Master’s degree, during which he spent a semester abroad in the charming (and wet) city of Cork, Ireland. For his Master’s thesis, he worked on boron-based hydride donors under the supervision of Prof. Robert J. Mayer, combining his background in synthetic chemistry with computational approaches. Outside of the lab, Felix enjoys strategic board games, cooking, and watching American football.

  • Felix played the cEDH European Championship 2025, but only won a single game.
